Gifts and Favours for Wedding Guests
Bridal favours (bomboniere) originate from Italy - they are traditionally a decorated bag containing five sugared almonds, representing health, wealth, happiness, long life and fertility.
However, couples can now choose from a vast range of gifts and favours for their guests, from chocolates, to sparklers to potted plants!
Favour Ideas:

- bottles of blowing bubbles - these can be bought in the shape of champagne bottles, doves, or even wedding cakes
- love heart sweets
- sparklers
- a single flower in a mini-vase
- silver key rings
- truffles
- miniature bottles of alcohol - these can even have your names and wedding date printed on the label
- gourmet jellybeans
- miniature picture frames
- chocolate hearts
- party poppers
- colouring book and crayons for the kids
There are many companies that provide kits for making your own favours - simply make and fill the boxes (or you can also buy chiffon drawstring bags) with whatever you want - chocolates, almonds, lollipops or even homemade biscuits! To make your gifts really special, attach a personalised label for each guest - you can then use them as place markers!
Attendants' Gifts
As well as the general favours given to all the guests, the bride and groom normally give a small present to each of their attendants in order to thank them for what they have done. As far as possible, the gift should have some connection with the wedding or couple and be personal to the recipient.
You might choose to give a piece of jewellery, such as a necklace, earrings or cufflinks, or perhaps a silver photograph frame.
Feel free to be a little more adventurous though - at one English wedding, all the male attendants were presented with cowboy hats in recognition of the groom's original Texan homeland!
